Our Favorite Sunscreens for Acne

Summer might be almost over (we’re sad about it too 😭), but it’s always a good time to talk about sun safety and the importance of sunscreen!  Protecting your skin from sun exposure is SO important for our acne clients.  Sun exposure damages healthy skin cells, causes more inflammation, worsens dark spots/acne scars, and prevents your breakouts from healing properly. It’s important for our clients to wear SPF daily because the exfoliating ingredients in your products and treatments can make your skin more sensitive to sun damage.  Protecting your skin daily helps it heal, lowers your risk of skin cancer, and also prevents premature aging–so you’ll continue looking like a young goddess for waaaaay longer than everyone else who’s been skipping their SPF this summer. It can be challenging to find a good sunscreen that properly protects your skin, doesn’t make you feel oily/greasy, and doesn’t irritate your acne even more.  These are our tried-and-true favorite sunscreens for our acne clients!
